Ten years ago today. Big D and I went on our first date. We went to dinner in the City and had a great time talking and laughing. He always makes me laugh...even today.

The Yankees were in the world series and I was oblivious. I was just wondering if there was food in my teeth and if I was babbling like an idiot at this totally cute guy. He kept leaving the table to go to the bathroom. I thought he had a bladder control issue. Turns out, he was checking the baseball score with his friends. The Yanks were winning the final game of the '96 world Series! After dinner, he admitted his sin. So like a good girl, (like a patient and understanding girl)...and so BD didn't have an aneurysm before the night was over, I suggested we go to a bar to watch them win the final game. He was ecstatic. I was happy for him, I just didn't want him to kiss me.

Ya see...I was gonna cancel the date that night because I was just not into it. But little did I know, he was gonna cancel the date that night because he wanted to watch the game with his friends. He's lucky he didn't cancel that frickin' date. He wouldn't have gotten another one.

Amazing how things turn out.

I love you BD.

I love discovering how couples first got together. There's always something interesting or funny or surprising. Your story's amusingly cute! c",)

Happy anniversary, Janet! Stay happy in love!

That's a good guy who'll go on a date over watching the big game with his buddies. Definitely a keeper. :-)

I think we might be long lost sisters! I also almost cancelled our second date because I wasn't that into him and he almost didn't call me for a third date because I was such a bitch on the second date. It was the third date that I thought this is the guy I'm going to marry. Funny how things turn out or may not turn out based on our decisions.

Thanks everyone for the nice wishes!!!

Irene: 'Happy in Love' is a great thought isn't it?

Amber: Half of his friends said to ditch me and go watch the game, the other half told him he was crazy if he didn't go. I still let him hang out with the good half...tee hee.

slackermommy: I think you may be right, sis. I was so bitchy to him on a few of our beginning dates, I'm shocked he hung around!!! I knew I was going to marry him after that first date though.

Pendullum: Most of the time love is grand. I am lucky that I married my best friend. I can tell him everything even when I'm pissed at him and we talk...when I tell him of course.

Mommyofftherecord: Thanks..I am looking forward to the next 10 years...

Chelle: Thanks hun.

Tracie: Thanks a lot!

Kristen: I can't wait to read that one!

Marmite breath: Our first date seems like it just happened yesterday and I wonder where the 10 years went...Then I pick up the pile of socks under the coffee table and it all comes swarming back to me...
