In with the new...

I did make it to midnight. Barely. Thanks to Dog the Bounty Hunter and Entourage. It was the first time I saw the ball drop in at least seven years. I know...Partay Animal. You Jealous?

Anyway, the holidays are over and the birthday is over, time to get back to normal; take down the decorations (who hoo!) and live like normal people again. Whatever that means. I don't have any new year's resolutions (other than the ones created on blogthings) because I never adhere to them. I always say, "My new year's resolution is that I won't make any more new year's resolutions!"

Other than my dry, cracked and bleeding hands from fighting with all the packaging and twisties the toys come in, I hafta say, we made it through fairly unscathed. Yay me us.

The end of the year was fantastic. Fa's birthday was filled with love and gifts...Christmas was too. We went to BD's parents for Christmas eve and my Dad's for Christmas day.

Santa ate all his cookies during his visit while we slept and made a huge mess for me to clean up. Fa didn't know what to make of that. It was so cute. I loved watching her wonder about Santa. She was afraid to come down the stairs Christmas morning because she thought he was still here. We had to assure her that he was long gone and still handing out gifts under other people's trees in order for her to get downstairs to open her presents.

We got lots of great loot and cool gifts from family and friends. My brother in law and sister in law got us this book to try to learn how to train our dopey dog. I love that man, Cesar.

I got this cool 'Tiffany' necklace from family, this bracelet and money from Dad and this wonderful pair from F and BD. Things I totally didn't ask for. THAT is a great surprise!

BD got wine (of course) and his all time favorite thing in the world..Silafunghi. The man loves his spread. I don't see the beauty in it, but he does and that's all that matters.

F was bombarded with toys and clothes and didn't know where to go first. It was wonderful and exhausting. We are a lucky bunch.

I took Fa to get her pictures taken for her birthday and I loved seeing her act like such a big girl in the studio. I loved all the photos and she really had a ball. The best photo session ever...No tears whatsoever....Partay.
What a supermodel!
Of course it wouldn't be a true holiday without pictures of... our food.
(Those are potatoes and rosemary! And I swear they just fell onto the aluminum foil that way...)

Happy! Happy! and healthy 2007 to my family, friends and internet buds!

10

Ten years ago today. Big D and I went on our first date. We went to dinner in the City and had a great time talking and laughing. He always makes me laugh...even today.

The Yankees were in the world series and I was oblivious. I was just wondering if there was food in my teeth and if I was babbling like an idiot at this totally cute guy. He kept leaving the table to go to the bathroom. I thought he had a bladder control issue. Turns out, he was checking the baseball score with his friends. The Yanks were winning the final game of the '96 world Series! After dinner, he admitted his sin. So like a good girl, (like a patient and understanding girl)...and so BD didn't have an aneurysm before the night was over, I suggested we go to a bar to watch them win the final game. He was ecstatic. I was happy for him, I just didn't want him to kiss me.

Ya see...I was gonna cancel the date that night because I was just not into it. But little did I know, he was gonna cancel the date that night because he wanted to watch the game with his friends. He's lucky he didn't cancel that frickin' date. He wouldn't have gotten another one.

Amazing how things turn out.

I love you BD.

Share the Love...blog style

Ms. Chicky-Chicky had this brilliant idea ( of course) that we should "spread the love" around this blogsphere...I agree! After all, I began blogging because there were a couple of fantastic blogs out there that motivated me to start my own. I have so many blogs in my blogroll that I read on a daily basis, and I add more every time someone recommends a new one. I truly don't know where to begin. And, there are a handful of blogs that I long to read...I check my bloglines regularly for these 'stars' and I go through serious withdrawals when they don't refresh fast enough...

However, I was instructed to be judicious in my selection!

On that note, the Blog I love, luv, luurrve, heart, seriously can't live without:

Mel: My very first Blogging friend! (And, she always leaves me warm, fuzzy comments too.) The way she loves her son and her husband is heartwarming. I just adore her blogging persona. She is sweet, caring, friendly and has the best family ever. They party like nobody's business! I love chatting with her and I love sharing advice with her. She truly has become a 'friend' from this thing we call the internet. I can't wait to meet her one day. Go say 'hi' to Mel and tell her I sent you. You rock Mel. Kiss that baby for me!

I'm so sorry that I couldn't include my entire Blogroll. (Most of you know I love you because I stalk you regularly! And I just started reading some of you and don't know enough about you yet.) I wish I could send you each a hug and tell you that I look forward to reading you every day.

Hell, I wish we could all have a slumber party and drink margaritas and tequila shots and play 'truth or dare'...that would be so much fun.

Ms. Chicky, this was a great idea.

Are they really, like...naked?

Yes ma'am, they sure are!

This just might be THE funniest show I have ever seen in my entire life.

Naked Boys Singing is just that. They're naked, they're very cute boys and they sing...quite well. I loved it. My cheeks hurt so bad during the show from laughing so hard. We were in the third row (eye level to the uhm, ya know) and these boys just dance around and sing totally nudie. It was hysterical. No shame! No guilt! No shit!

At first, I didn't know where to avert my eyes. It was hard just to stare at their 'willies' but hey, as the opening number suggests...Enjoy the gratuitous nudity...So you get comfy real quick. Then, you kinda forget they are totally naked and enjoy the comedy and the singing and every once in a while, a peck or a thigh or even a free willy! Fantastic.

Of course, I didn't snap one picture of the evening, so I could post them here. I am still getting used to this blog thing and I know I should carry my camera everywhere...But, after the show, my Aunt got an autograph and a hug from her favorite cute boy...Of course she would. Then, we ate here...great food. I highly recommend it if you are on Broadway. They have a little bit of everything. Including Bruscetta...Right Aunt? Then we checked out the hotel Dream. It was right next door to the restaurant. This was a fantastic place with a few great lounges to hang out in. Yummy.

I guess with the entire night focusing on the male genitalia, my cousin was in the mood for a giant Cannoli. So we went downtown to Holy Cannoli, Ferrara's, in Little Italy. We had fun. All in all it was a great night out and I enjoyed the company. It was so much fun to see my cousins again. I can't wait to do it again. I think next time, we should see this. Whaddya think ladies? Are you up for it?

I Got Tipsy Last Night

Whee!
Big Daddy cooked (yup that's right ladies and gentlemen eat your hearts out, my hubby cooks!) a fantastic BBQ and we drank a bottle of white wine. I haven't done that in ages. We used to drink a bottle of wine a night. Red, white, you name it we drank it. I think we tried to relive our Vineyard theme wedding often...Then, I became a mom and drinking wine at dinner when your itty bitty baby might need you in the wee hours of the night became somewhat stupid. Especially since I can't get up at 2am when I'm sober let alone tipped. But now, Fa sleeps all night long and I think I am ready to uncork the yum yums again! Wow. I really missed it. I missed the flavors and the aromas and the sleepy feeling you get when you are done eating. Like you wanna crawl up on the couch and lick your paws until bed time...it just made the dinner so much more delicious and we laughed and watched Fa run around the table with R. It was kinda like a real family.

Tonight, we will uncork a white again. I am looking forward to it. Sometimes you just hafta go back a little to move forward, ya know. Family dinners have been non-existent here for a while (with trying to keep the old house clean for showings and trying to keep the new house clean until we unpack everything) and I think they are coming back again...Yippee...

Maybe I'll finish unpacking one day this year. Until then, pass me the wine.

We Painted Our Tonie-Nails Daddy!

Fa loves her feet as much I as I love her feet. Now, her newest adventure is to paint her "tonie-nails" all kinds of funky colors. We painted hers again today. She absolutely gets ecstatic when they are done. She sits still until they are dry and she won't put shoes on until she's good and ready after a new pedi.

When Daddy comes home....watch out. She's all ready to show off her special nuggets of love with him too. If you are around Fa while her nails are painted, you better take notice. She'll be highly offended if you ignore them.

So today we did blue. Next week will either be orange or purple. Some people say I've created a monster with her and her vanity. What's so wrong with caring about the way you look? Anyway you look at it, those tonie-nails are the light of my life and I will paint them for her as long as I'm breathing.
