Funny Story (I think).
I was going out with my best friend Wednesday night. BD was coming home tired from a long day of hot, sweaty work (sexy) and he was going to take Fa out to dinner. So, I unwittingly told her she was going out on a "date" with her Daddy. She got all excited! The conversation goes like this..No Joke:
"Can Pink Burpie come with us?"
"Yes, of course baby, Pinkie comes everywhere doesn't she?"
"Is Mommy coming with us?"
"No baby, I am going out with my friend."
Here's where I should have been suspicious...but I wasn't...
"Can we RIDE on the date?"
"Yes, baby you will ride in the car to go on your date!"
"And the garage will say vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvrrrrrrrrggghhhh!" (She has a fascination with the garage door opener and anything that makes loud noises, my carpet hasn't been vacuumed in 3 weeks)
"That's right baby...And you will have so much fun with Daddy on your date! He's going to take you to the diner and you can eat anything you want there and even have ice cream for dessert..."
"NO DINER....I want to go ride on the daaaaaaaaate!!!"
Oh, OK! So. She thinks a date is something you ride on like the "Tea Cups" at a carnival!
Insert Temper Tantrum.
BD comes home to Fa screaming: "I want to go with daddy on a date!"
He also tries to explain that a "date" is something fun you do with a friend...or your daddy...Uh Uh. Nope. Not working. Fa expects Tea Cups, Merry-go-Rounds, Choo Choo Trains...
Don't we all really?

* Since 'date night' she has been quite interested on going on a 'date' again. What the hell have I started here?

hehe it is so hard to help them understand sometimes. We have just started having melt downs with our two year old due to a lack of communication!
I am glad she enjoyed her date with Daddy!
