Dinner and a Mo.......zzzzzz.

My darling husband took me out to dinner last night for my birthday. Yes folks...I will officially be an old hag on Tuesday. Send all sparkly gifts to the address listed in my 'loony bin' roster...(This is the week to celebrate my birthday..I always take a week. I start the Saturday before and end the Saturday after...Since forever...Wheee...)

Ahem, back to last night. We went to an amazing, top-notch restaurant here in the neighborhood. He had crab cakes to start and wild striped bass for dinner. I stuffed myself with mushroom barley soup and Ahi tuna. We drank champagne to start off and a beautiful Red Burgundy during dinner... The plan was to do something after dinner. We were going to park our car at home and walk into town to have some drinks at another local restaurant.

I never made it.

I was so stuffed and a little tipsy that when we came home, I immediately ran upstairs to put my jammies on and veg on the couch. My In-laws were ready for a late night of babysitting and when I walked in the door, my Mother-I-Law yelled at me for not wanting to go out...Who has a babysitter that begs you to stay out as long as you like??? I do.

I really wanted to hang out somewhere with BD and be alone away from home...but I was so full, I needed to sit down in stretch pants...Ugh. I'm an old bat.

All in all it was scrumptious. Thank you BD, for making me feel like the only woman in the world again! Thank you for always making me feel like I am your special friend. Thank you for loving me no matter what. I love you.

I think I'll go to the gym today while BD and Fa go out to buy me a birthday gift. I hope it's something sparkly and pretty...Ha! What do I really care?..If she made me a card and gave me a hug and kiss...I would consider that the best gift ever. But he likes to take her to shop for me because he says she gets so excited and tells everyone she's shopping for Mommy! Ah. I love her.

I need to work off those calories. So I can be ready for Oscar later tonight. Just what I need, more skinny bitches in beautiful dresses to make me feel old and dare I say, fat.

We're not OLD! Just seasoned and experienced! And, Wise! And, a little boring! We're parents damn it, we can't party like it's 1999!

Here's hoping for sparkly, pretty gifts....

Happy Birthday, Bud!

First of all, happy early birthday! I'll certainly celebrate with you!

And I know about being all stuffy - hubby brought home something this week and I'm snorting stuff up to the sky from my underwear.

And I'm ALL about a homemade card and kisses and hugs. By FAR the best gifts EVER.

Happy Birthday Week! Mr. Mayhem's birthday is tomorrow. We are going to lunch with my family to celebrate today.

I can completely relate to this! Seems like we always have the best laid plans....but damn if I don't get tired, tipsy, or eat too much!

Plus, fancy clothes are SO restrictive! When are the designers going to bring back stretch pants? Everything else has cycled back into style!

My daughter loves to pick out presents for me, too. It is so sweet! I hope you get something wonderful!

Thanks for your encouraging words on my blog.......it meant a lot!

Happy Birthday Week!!!

Sounds like a lovely evening. I am not much of a night owl anymore myself :D

You celebrate your birthday for an entire week? I think Paris Hilton does that too!!!

Not that I'm comparing you to Paris Hilton or anything like that.

It sounds like y'all had a wonderful evening - even if it did end early.

Hope you have a great week!!!

I didn't realize we would be partying for a week! I would have done some drinking (I mean training) if I had known.

Happy birthday. I so relate to going home. Better to have gone homw and made a ice memory than to have stayed out and had the flame extinguished. Here's to an amazing week, and an even more amazing year!

Happy Birthday! Oh…that sounds like an absolutely wonderful evening. And the food!! Yum. Spectacular. I am barley 25 and I am usually in bed by 9 I think I act like I am 60 some days. And from picture I have seen NOT fat. Anyone could wear a 10, 000$ dress like at the Oscar’s and have people professionally do their make up can look good. From what I have heard, things just get better and better over the years. Hope you have a special birthday week. @--}--}--- rose for you.

Happy early Birthday! Don't feel old...I think I would've felt more old going to the bar and having drinks. Seems the last couple times we did that (in like five years time) we were the oldest ones there! :)

I've been there, done that with the home-after-dinner thing. Makes me feel old too, but I try to think of it as just me, growing up!

happy birthday!

lol, I do the same thing - I celebrate my birthday the entire week through. even I go out on the weekends, especially if my birthday falls in the middle of the week, I tell everyone I'm celebrating my birthday both the weekend before and after. I'll take all the free drinks I can get!

Happy Bday, my sidebar photos you asked about are edited in my kodak photo system, I cartoon them.

Your birthday night out sounds HEAVENLY! Good food, good drinks, good man and a good pair of stretch pants sounds like something I'd ask for on my birthday! HA!

Happy Birthday, Fellow Piscean. Nothing like getting one year older. And one year fatter, of course. :-)

so if your b-day is on a saturday - do you start celebrating the saturday *before* and finish the one *after*? So you get like 2 weeks of celebrating??? Reminder for me in June...
