It's all happenin' at the zoo...

We went to the Bronx Zoo yesterday with one of Girl's friends "S" from school and his mom "G". She loves this boy! She had such a blast she didn't want to say goodbye to him at the end of the day.

My little girl just might be doin' some serious crushin' on this boy.

Girl after my own heart.

Sometimes I just don't understand her though.

To view the Congo exhibit, you have to drop your stroller off at a 'parking area' because its a fire hazard to bring it into the exhibit with you. (I'm still not sure what they do for wheelchairs, but that's another rant) Girl would NOT let go of the stroller. Like it was polyester gold. She was not havin' it. She refused to go into the exhibit without the farking stroller. So we couldn't go in. S and G wanted to see it but they wouldn't go in without us. What a shame. I was pissed.

So we went on with our day...and I had to calm down...(What's with he lack of patience there sweetheart?)

Then, later on at Tiger Mountain, you had to leave your stroller back and she did so with a smile! What the fuck? She is such a hormonal female. Ugh.

The butterfly exhibit was our favorite.

"Snackers"
And she loved these photo statues. She didn't want to leave here.

The day was long and busy and hot, and believe it, we got lost and had to drive through the "Boogie Down Bronx" to get to the zoo but we had a great time. To top it all off, Girl has a new friend that she truly likes to play with and I have a mom I can talk to.

G got me to calm down about our potty training dilemma too. It has come to the point where I have taken away all of the privileges Girl loves unless she pots. And I am stressed beyond belief. Girl could care less.

"I won't go water the plants with Daddy, oh well."
"I can't go swimming in the pool...kay. "
"I can't watch Tom and Jerry, maybe next time"....

She told me to give Girl back the power and when she wants to use the pot, she'll let me know. Just change her without a word about it and move onto other things. Don't mention the pot. Don't ask if she has to go. Don't look at her funny when she smells like shit. And don't threaten.

Damnit I hope this works. But didn't I do this once before?

Yes, but I can't get that 'time limit' off my brain. That idea that she has to pot by a certain age. I do not want this kid in pull ups at five years old damnit. I just don't know what to do.

I'm not leaving this post talking about potty.
Isn't this gorgeous?

They fly right to you and land right on you...Love it.

Oh! And if you're still reading....Wish me a Happy Blogiversary too...I've been bloggin' baby for one whole year.

*Cue the music*...
Happy Blogiversary to meeeeeeeeeee...

So glad you blog girl. I feel like we are cosmic sisters in this big wide world.

The zoo looks fabulous!!

I am so having patience issues myself ... sigh!

I agree with your friend ... let all the energy go and maybe just maybe all will fall into place, if not at least you are not carrying all that energy!

Happy Blogiversary Janet.

Sounds like (all things considered) you had a fun day at the zoo.

Don't sweat the pot thing... she will come around; just wait for it.

Hey it's my blogiversary too! Must have been something in the water.

Re: potty training. She will not be wearing diapers at 5. Keep her in diapers...not pull-ups. They hate diapers more. The pull-ups make them think they are sort of like big kids. She will wake up one day and just declare herself potty trained. I promise.

Happy Blogiversary! Cheers to you!!

(loved the 06 posts particularly the "doodie" one)

Speaking of which the potty training will happen - I got all kinds of stressed out too but in the end the twins let me know when they were ready and then it took a mere few days.

Anyhoo, imagine the party you can have when SF is potty trained (hey thats as good a reason to party as any right). Margaritas for everyone !

Ugh the potty training stage! Good luck!

Happy bloggiversary!
SF has a crush. Sweet.
And as for the potty. I'd drop the potty talk for at least 2 weeks. You need to regain control of the situation by acting like it doesn't matter (even though, I know, it totally does). Good luck!

Aren't days at the zoo so fun. I can't wait to take Jacob. I know he would love seeing all the animals.

Isn't it so cute seeing children 'crushin'? It starts at such an early age! I swear, Jacob does the same thing when he sees a pretty girl all done up lol.

Happy Blogiversary to you! ...and many more ...I hope :)

I distinctly recall the fear of the 'stroller free zone' - yikes, enough to strike me dead on the spot.
Happy bloggiversary - if you could do it all again......?
Potty training - maybe you can 'borrow' a similar aged friend to demonstrate. [competition works for one of mine]
Cheers

Happy Blogiversary!

I wish I could be original and all. Alas, no.

My words may be copied, but my wishes are genuine. You posts are one of the first I read!

Happy Blogiversary!

Great pics!

Isn't that crazy how we think there is a timeline for potty training? I thought it with the Heir too. I thought it was a reflection of myself as a mother and if he didn't do it by such and such date, I was a failure. Yeah, my logic was outstanding, dontcha think? snort.

But there really isn't a timeline. Take my advice and take your friend's advice. Really, it's OK. Honestly...it is. I promise!

ugh. she sounds like a Scorpio like my little one. Nuthin' easy....but the rewards are great.

happy anniversary!

And Happy Bloggiversary! Congrats!
