More Bugs in the System

I can't even stand it anymore.

We have moths.

You know the ones, they start out as larvae in food and junk. "Pantry Pests".

Little grey moths that have been flying through this house even before we moved into it.

It's like a horror movie:
We buy this great new home and it is infested with ghosts...um, moths.
(soft whisper) "Get Out!"

The family that lived here prior, were dirty animals. They left this place a mess. We had to hire a real cleaning crew to come in the middle of the night and do a 'clean sweep'...Literally, they came at midnight because it was such a big job.

Well, we didn't get rid of the flying fiends. Despite all of our concerted efforts. We have failed. They are still infesting our space. I am so surrounded by pests, and I can't escape. Help.

So, I am in my pantry yesterday afternoon, looking for a yummy snack. I hit the tub with chocolate and granola in it and...BAM...Little white larvae crawling around inside the tub. How the fuck to they get in there? I didn't even hafta open it, it was see-through. I saw them all. Crawling around like they own the place...Ughhhh I'm so farkin' itchy right now.

The moths fly freely throughout the house and we kill them left and right. But it never seems to work. Well, poor BD hadta come home from work last night and vacuum all the little holes inside the "cabinests" (you know where you hang the shelves from). They were building nests inside of them and hatching. Ugh. I really just can't take it. I had to take Fa out because she is terrified of the vacuum. She'd have a heart attack if she saw what BD was doin' last night. So we had to stay out of the house for two whole hours. Yes, you read that right. It took BD two hours to vacuum each and every frickin' hole in the "cabinests"...Now let's see if BD got the little bastards.

To top it all off...My toilet is overflowed (yet again) this morning. I dunno why it only happens to me? I swear, I didn't even use it like that....I just threw some toilet paper in for fuck's sake. I purposely didn't 'go' in it because it always overflows on me. And I just had a feeling. Now, I have towels surrounding the overflowing commode. Now what?

Can I get a 'do over' on the past 3 days or so?

I probably should be happy about it...

...RT is eating his poop so much that I hardly have anything to clean anymore! It's wonderful. But oh, so gross. I can't stand the thought of him licking us. He eats his poop then he licks my daughter's hand. UGH!

This can't be normal. Last night after we fed him, we waited for him to go before we put him in his crate for the night and he never went. Oh, but yes, I say, he did go. He just ate it before we could find it. 'Good boy', I think. Poop dessert. Yum!

Now I:
  • Hafta find out what to give him to make him stop eating his poop.
  • Start walking him regularly after eating, to avoid the poop feast.
  • Start a whole new schedule of puppy training all over again.
  • Enroll myself into Creedmore...that's the closest asylum in Long Island, I believe.
He goes for more shots this week. Hopefully, the vet will have some suggestions. If not, Anyone want a Boston Terrier? Cheap.

Baby vs. Puppy

My poor husband wants to have another baby. I, on the other hand, do not. We have been avoiding the topic for a lot of months now. I have been just feeling not so ready here. With my history and newborns, I fail to see the positive aspects of another child...Plus, I'm gettin' up there in ovarian age, it might not be so easy...So we bought a puppy. I know, crazy right? Well, I truly figured it'd be way easier than another kid. I dopily thought: I won't feel so frickin' heartbroken every time he leaves my side, I won't be too attached, I won't feel so responsible for my heart and blood running around outside my body, I won't care if he cries, I'll feed him and walk him and that's that...oh so many reasons why a puppy is easier, and such the smart choice...Well, I was wrong. Dead wrong. Yes, I don't feel so attached to the frickin' thing...it is definitely not of my blood and loins....However, the work involved is waaaaaaaay more difficult...Put it this way, at least a baby shits in diapers...And it's shit that I helped make with mine and my husbands genes...

So I weighed the cons and cons. Here's what I came up with.
Baby: poopie & peepee all over the place
Puppy: poopie & peepee all over the place
Baby: Diaper rash
Puppy: I wish
Baby: midnight feedings
Puppy: eats two-three times a day
Baby: spit up
Puppy: slobber
Baby: gas
Puppy: gas
Baby: potty training sucks
Puppy: potty training sucks
Baby: colick
Puppy: is there a such thing as puppy colick?
Baby: grows up to talk back and think her parents are idiots
Puppy: loyal & faithful
Baby: tantrums
Puppy: happy licking most of the time
Baby: money for clothes, diapers, food
Puppy: money for clothes, wee wee pads, food
Baby: teething
Puppy: shreds wee wee pads to pieces (even with shit on it)
Baby: the pee pee dance comes later and can be somewhat controlled
Puppy: the Shit dance just makes a frickin’ mess all over the house
Baby: PPD
Puppy: you still need meds 'cause he's rippin up the place

Let's see...it's a toss up. Did I make a mistake with the puppy or what?

RT's First Bath and Smelly Feet

So it went well today.
I still haven't gotten one comment on how to control a wee wee pad weilding puppy. Thanks alot lurkers. Are you even out there? Is anybody reading? ...Feel me people!!!! Feel my pain.

The dog had his very first bath. He hated it. We did it in the sink. Even though I was too scheeved out to do it in my tub where Fa's hiney sits, I thought doing it where the dishes sit would be beetter...Don't ask! I was expecting that he'd be miserable. He shivered heavily and whimpered a little and I felt bad for him. But too bad, he needed it so frickin' badly. He stunk almost as bad as Fa's feet. And those were ripe today too...Whew. This heat has made her feet so smelly and BD thinks I'm crazy, but I absolutely love, love, love the smell of those feet....Especially when they've been in shoes all day without socks! Oh yeah, that's a smell that lingers...

Fa and I were out most of the morning today and RT was a pretty well behaved little man. He only ripped up my magazines that the mailman slipped through the mail slot in my back door. I forget that that is where RT is living and that is where the mail gets flung. So he 'read' BD's Sports Illustrated and ripped it to smithereens...Poor BD.

We came home and lo and behold. No doodie flinging. I was surprised but ecstatic. I didn't have much fecal schmearing..only a few spatterings on some toys and the magazines...I threw everything out. Nice.

It's so farking hot here in NYC and my house didn't smell, so that made me quite happy. I walked into a sweet smelling, doodieless home. I like that. I expected it to smell like Penn Station again. Then I went shopping for some basics like paper towels (since I used up a whole 9 pack in a week) and when I got home, BD was cleaning up the shredded wee wee pad... I'm glad I missed it.

I hafta go now. BD is feeling abandoned by the time I spend on this blog. "We don't have a relationship anymore!" Aw, how sweet. He misses me...Shucks.

This is not fun!

So this is what happens when I leave RT alone for an hour. (Notice the wee wee pad is nowhere in sight) I want to strangle him. I went up to put Fa in for a nap and when I came back down that's what I was greeted by. And now the friggin' dog is doing this. I am truly beside myself and the shit. To top it ALL off the dog has parasitic poop. I hafta call the vet and send in another stool sample tomorrow (after his meds are finished). If this dog is still parasitic, I'm gonna puke. I am not happy with buggy-shit embedded in my tiles for Fa to touch accidentally. Whattif she gets sick. I'll die. I'll blame myself and I'll be very pissed off. He better have those buggies gone tomorrow or you'll hear it from me.

If anyone is out there and reading this...Please give a sista some advice because I am ready to choke the BT Pup. I know you're out there. Come on, come out from the shadows and save me. Or you'll be reading about how a young mother poured cement on her puppy's paws, wrapped him in a rug and sent him to sleep with the fishes. I'm italian, I'll do it.

Don't make Fa grow up with her mother incarcerated for puppy murder. Have a heart. If not the puppy, save the girl. Any advice can be posted as a comment. Please, please for the love of God please. Give a gal some advice. Please.

Who's the Best Pet Yet?

RT! That's who!

I promise, this won't become and RT Blog! And Fa has not become second class. But we have been consumed by RT and his bowels for the past few days and whoah Nellie, is he the bestest boy ever!

This morning, I woke up to find he peed in his box with the weewee pad in it. So I hugged him, walked him (no success) and took a shower. After I came down, I saw he pooped in the weewee box! Bravo RT!!!

I fed him and finished getting dressed. I walked him and BINGO! POOP in his potty place outside! Do I have a Supergenious (meep meep) dawg or what? I have the best pet yet!

Fa is still snoozing, so that's one down and one to go. See, it's all in the wrist, uh, I mean scheduling! Everybody needs a schedule....I am the QUEEN of overobsessing about scheduling! I can't function unless I have a schedule. I think this makes for well behaved puppies and children (maybe?)!!!

Maybe I'll start a puppy business...Nah, maybe not, too much work. Maybe I'll start a childcare business...Nah, too much involved. Maybe I'll just worry about my own two children for a while and take it from there. They are my first priority.

More Pictures of R

Maybe he really is happy here...
He looks content!

RT the Wonder Pup

How could you get mad at this face?

Is this a good boy or what?

The First Night

RT... Pooped all over the floor....Outside the crate. We are taking the advice of a few experienced dawg owners and combining all the smart advice together. We let him sleep in his crate, opened. (We think he's used to that) so he pooped on the floor. Ooops. At least it wasn't all over his bedding!

I took him out first thing...Nothing.

I took a shower and fed him. Then I took him out 2 more times after he ate. The first time, Nada. The second time, BINGO! Poop in the grass. I praised him and played with him for a while. Then I put him in his area so I could get my other puppy, Fa, out of her crate.

Now, both puppies had breakfast and only the four legged one pooped in the right spot.

The plumber's here. Again. Seems that this time he's gonna get some work done. I hope.

This day is getting busy. I am getting overwhelmed...

Oh that's right! It's Big Daddy's birthday today too.

7 Hours and Counting!

RT has been home for 7 hours.

He has pooped in his bedding twice already and peed on the floor at least three times...right next to the wee wee pads.

This is really fun. I am having a ball.

I can't wait to see what happens when we all go to sleep and leave him in his crate all night with his baby bladder and colon. He seems to love dancing in his poop. It must make him happy and feel comfortable because he does it often.

All My Children!

RT is home.

R.T. (Italian name unidentified here)...Fitting, since the World Cup Finals are on and Italy is playing. Big Daddy's Motherland! He is very excited, more for 'football' than RT, I assure you.

Mommy and baby are doing fine. Fa is a wonderful big sister, she helped to set up his crate and helps walk him, everyone is napping right now except for mommy. Figures. Fa was so excited to see him again. She has been such a patient girl with this new addition. I think we are gonna grow up fine together. RT seems like a wonderful man and a very smart guy too.

I love him. He's sleeping in his crate right now. He slept on the way home too in the box in the car. We stopped to see his cousins A and G and he never even flinched. He had a blast! He did keep bopping his head on their mirror and cry though. I think he thought the reflection was his long-lost brother.

He hasn't peepeed or pooped yet, but I keep hearing how crate training is the way to go!!!! Maybe I should put Fa in a crate too. Now I have two babies to potty train...Fantastic!

We're off to go get RT

We are getting ready to get the new boy. I am very excited and Fa keeps saying we're getting "OOOOOOttieeeeeee Daaawg"

I'll fill in all the details later.....

RT Supplies.

Well, it's time to get ready for the newest addition to come home.

I should've had a "puppy shower". I might have saved some money on supplies. Then again, who would've come? K & G that's it.

I think I need a whole lotta stuff for the little guy.
-A crib/crate
-Bedding
-Food/Water bowls
-Diapers, uh, wee wee pads (I still think he'll train faster than Fa)
-Chew Toys/teethers
-Play, educational, developmental toys
-Collar/ID tag (birth certificate)
-Leash
-Gating to confine him safely near, but not with Fa
-Treats
-A sweater for the cold weather (you never know what the extremes can do)

I'm a little overwhelmed, but if I could handle a newborn on top of Post Partum Depression, this should be a breeze!

See me in a week...

I'm taking a trip to PetCo tomorrow to prepare for his arrival. I am very excited. Especially since this will be my first time out of the house since I was diagnosed with my strange illness...
Oh, wait I was out to go to therapy tonight too...whew, whatta relief. Sometimes you just feel so much better when you vent your frustrations to a therapist. I should practice my venting skills on the actual people I really need to vent to. That's a topic for another day...I tend to digress...

I have never been to PetCo but I have a coupon and I plan to use it. This may be the first time I use a coupon too...This RT dog may just be exactly what Fa and I need. I hope.

As I said before, see me in a week...

The Newest Addition to Our Family is Coming!

That's right Ladies & Gentlemen...and children of all ages....

We are getting a puppy! We decided that Fa needs a playmate and faithful companion and a little brother or sister was just not the option. (We didn't want her thunder to get stolen so soon in her short little life)...So a puppy it is.

He's a Boston Terrier and he is absolutely Cute with a capital C! We are naming him RT because that's what he looks like. He looks like an RT . Prince Stinkbutt, Sir Arthur Doodie Doyle....I love 'em all...RT is his name...cuteness is his game.

He was born on April 7th, 2006 (Aries) Ironically enough; the "Year of the Dog". According to Chinese Astrology: "The dog is the human's friend who can understand the human's spirit and obey its master, whether he is wealthy or not. The Chinese regard the dog as an auspicious animal. If a dog happens to come to a house, usually the host will be very glad to adopt it, for it symbolizes the coming of fortune."

You go RT!

I can not wait to get him home. I hope he and Fa grow up happy and healthy together...Here comes the puppy poop....
