What the fuck happened here? I wake up this morning to Fa wanting to read this book a bajillion times. I ask her if she wants to sit on the potty and I get a resounding YES! We get on the potty happily, she wants to read the book another gazillion times. I ask her if she wants to see her piles and piles of undies and it all goes downhill from there.
She now will only wear the undies and refuses to wear the pull ups. The catch. She WILL NOT GO on the potty. She does the all too familiar pee pee dance and I drag her kicking and screaming to the potty. 'IF' I get her to sit on the ever lovin' potty she holds it until she comes off the farkin' thing...then she pees on my floor and screams and cries: "Mommy get me out of here!"
I tried to bribe her with this and told her if she goes on the potty she can open it and play with it. But I had to take it away from her because there was nothing in the pot and she screamed and cried some more. What the fuck am I doing here? I am sliding in a downward spiral with this potty shit. (Pardon the shitty pun)
To top it off, RT still has to go out but I can't leave Fa in undies alone in the living room. She panics. (She's panicking a lot this morning.) And the dog goes on the side of the house on a leash. We don't have a fence. Of course.
I have to pee, I'll be back...

OK, I've had some time to think about this. What's the big friggin' deal about this toilet thing anyway? The kid doesn't wanna go in it. What am I gonna do? I can't very well force her. I tried. It doesn't work. She stiffens up and refuses. Then she pees on the floor. (The dog goes in the right spot more than her now.)
I give up. I am a terrible mother and a horrible example for potty training. I have no farking idea how to get her to go so I'll just wait until she tells me she hasta go on the potty herself. I have tried everything else. Showing her, teaching her how it works, playing with stuffed animals on the pot. Everything. I give up.
Any suggestions?

I say, try vodka...oh wait a sec, you mean for her? or you? Well, hell...either way, try vodka.
awwwww I feel so bad that my post was all about how well Becca has done and then I come here and read your struggles!!! HUGS!
You are right you cannot force her to use the potty. Before panties, Becca went with a t-shirt no diaper or panties. She had accidents on the floor. I bought pet stain remover to kill the smell and clean it up. As soon as she would start peeing we would tell her to run to the potty (which we kept near her at all times so there was a potty in our living room). She sat on the potty to watch tv too (by choice).
Don't worry, she will get it eventually. No kid graduates in diapers :)
Thank you guys.
Kevin- the vodka only works for a little while, then she turns into an ornery drunken little person.
Chelle- I keep trying to tell myself that every day...
Look here's is the skinny on that:
Don't try to force her to put it in the potty. It just makes matters worse and the 3rd world war will break out! She's not in school yet so don't freak out. However, being a former day care teacher, I never tried to train a kid that wasn't ready or already trying at home. There is something about kids knowing that their friends are doing something that they aren't. It is a lot easier when you have help and I'm not talking about Mista. Daycares will help you as long as you stay consistent.
It is overwhelming becuz you are trying to train 2 kids! If you are nont planning to send SF to day care then don't spaz yet. SHe'll come around but try not to let her see that you have given up!
Let her know that when she is ready
we can try using the big girl potty! Look fer her signals, if there are any and ask her if she need to sit on the pot. If not then let her have the accidents in her pretty panties. I used to let the kids clean up their own accidents and i would assist when there was poop. I tekk you there is something about children taking responsibility for their actions that put them on that potty. It dosent work for every kid.
Just relax and go with the flow. Keep Artie in his cage or out side so he can do his thang! You've got alot on your plate. Potty training is and can be a long project that need no other distractions. don't try to do it all! If I would only follow this sage advice I'm giving you, I'd be GOLDEN!
Big Hugs

Potty training is rough. This is my advice, give up for a while! It's obviously not working. Try again in a couple months. Don't stress yourself out over it. Just don't force Lily to go and maybe one day, she'll get up and do it on her own.
